Biography

Anthony Michael Spencer

From the age of about 12 I have been interested in making music. I just loved to experiment with chords then and that has not changed to this day.  I had piano lessons from about 12 years old onwards and this coincided with various popular music that was being heard, yet I had a strong liking for the more serious 'classical music'.  My father, George Henry Spencer was a very good pianist and I remember listening to the music coming from the Decca gramophone my Mum & Dad had in their bedroom - Beethovan, Chopin, Elgar, incredibly moving music.  I took on board some of these influences but I was also influenced by popular music of one sort or another.

I'm now 56 years old and have finally realised my dream of producing some pieces that have the potential of becoming orchestral.  Just to be able to see my pieces on printed score paper was great.  My music now has a more definite form, yet it is also varied I think.
